Lemosho route - 9 Days Tour Itinerary

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where you will be welcomed by a representative from Explore Active and transferred to the designated hotel or one of your choice. The hotel offers comfortable rooms, hot water, a friendly staff, a swimming pool, and internet access to ensure a comfortable stay.

-> Before beginning the climb, a pre-climb briefing and equipment check will be conducted to make sure that you have all the necessary items and are properly prepared for the journey. Our guides, who are highly experienced, will be with you every step of the way to ensure a safe and enjoyable climbing experience on Mount Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route.

-> If time allows, it is recommended to explore the surrounding areas and acclimate to the altitude before starting the climb. Our local guides and representatives will be happy to suggest activities and sights to see in the area and assist with any additional arrangements.

The first day of your trek is set to be an incredible and picturesque journey as you arrive at Lemosho Gate and officially register with the park authorities. You will commence your hike with a gradual ascent through a verdant rainforest, passing through a variety of vegetation zones such as montane forest and heathland.

-> The hike will take approximately 3 - 5 hours, with ample rest breaks and proper hydration.

-> At Mti Mkubwa, you will sign in on the visitor's book, take a group photo, and then be escorted to your designated campsite where your camping equipment is already prepared and ready for your use.

-> Your guide will inform you of dinner time, provide an evening briefing on the plans for the next day and any important information you need to know. You will spend the night at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp, where you are encouraged to properly store your food and trash to avoid any wildlife interactions.

Please note that: the itinerary is dependent on the weather and the group's condition, your guide will make adjustments as needed for the safety of the group.

As we progress, the terrain will become more rocky with scree, but we will also have the opportunity to see pockets of lush vegetation in sheltered areas. Our final destination for the day is the Karanga camp, which is situated at an altitude of 4,000 meters.
